Hi there!

I'm Alex, a Los Angeles-based costume designer with over 10 years of experience in the industry. I bring a passion for visual storytelling and a background in fine arts to every project I work on.

My journey in costume design began with a love for theatre. Originally, I aspired to be a stage manager, but I soon realized the artistic side of production called to me more. That's what led me to pursue a BFA in Theater - Costume Design from Carnegie Mellon University.

I approach costume design with a cerebral perspective. I believe in collaborating closely with directors and actors to understand a character's background and motivations, and then translating that into a visually compelling costume.

Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from commercials and web series to feature films and scripted television. This experience has allowed me to hone my skills in various areas, including: Concept development and design, collaboration with directors, actors, and other members of the creative team, sourcing and shopping for costumes, wardrobe fitting and supervision, mask making, Fabric modification and more. 

While I may secretly harbor a dream of being a stay-at-home artist free from the grips of capitalism, my true passion lies in collaboration and storytelling. I find magic in working with others to create something new and inspiring, whether it's a costume, a piece of art, or even a loaf of sourdough bread! It's where I believe true magic lies in this life. Collaboration and creating new art, plants, worlds,ideas,questions...it's what keeps me living!
